IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!

Payment Policy: Session 4 Payments are due the week of March 18, 2013. We reserve the right to refuse class participation due to a delinquent account. All past-due accounts must be paid in full at this time. If there are outstanding balances, dancers will not be permitted to return to class or participate in the Spring Review.

Picture Day:
Mia Bella Photography will again be at the studio to take professional pictures of your dancer in their costume. You will be able to digitally view your pictures and place your order that day. Payment is due with your order. All classes will have a class picture taken and students may have individual pictures taken at this time. Pictures are not mandatory, but it’s fun to have everyone in the class photos, so we ask that you do your best to attend! Below is a list of picture days & times. If you cannot make your scheduled day and/or time but would like an individual picture taken, please call the studio to make arrangements. Final pictures will be passed out during class the week of May 5^th!

Tuesday 3&4 Year Olds: 1pm
Wednesday 3&4 Year Olds: 1:30 pm
5&6 Year Olds: 2 pm   (wear tap/jazz costume)

Congrats to the KDC Dance Teams: The dance teams had their first competition Sunday February 24 at Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati. The Blue & White Dance Teams performed a hip hop routine together and the Purple & Green team performed a hip hop routine together and both routines won 1^st Place in their age divisions. The Pink Dance Team performed a hip hop routine and a jazz prop routine and both routines placed 1^st overall in their age division.

The Purple and Green teams each competed with a lyrical routine and both received 1^st place! All of our soloists finished in the top ten out of dozens of competitors. In the youth age group, Breanna Brandenburg placed 7^th, Kate Theiman placed 6^th, Kelsey Schuett placed 4^th, Mia Maniet placed 3^rd, Mallory Hill placed 2^nd, and Carson Schell placed 1^st! In the junior age division, Abby Grimm placed 6^th, Annie Adamowicz placed 5^th, and Hilary Gadd placed 3^rd. In the senior age division, Macy Fennell placed 5^th and Hannah Ziegler placed 2^nd! Carson Schell and Emily Hall also performed a duo together and placed 1^st in their age division. The Pink Elite Team consisting of Macy Fennell, Hilary Gadd, Abby Grimm and Hannah Ziegler performed a lyrical and hip hop routine and placed 3^rd and 4^th respectively! Good luck to our teams at their next competition in Indianapolis March 23-24!

Required Extra Practices: In order to prepare for our Spring Review, there are 4 required Saturday practices which are in addition to our regularly scheduled classes. Please do your best to attend as many if not all, of the extra practices. The dates are: April 13, 20, 27 & May 4. Times for the April 13 practice are below. Times for the remaining Saturday practices may be adjusted to ensure that all classes are receiving adequate rehearsal time.

Spring Review Information:Highlands High School Sat. May 11 & Sun. May 12
Rehearsal Information: Saturday May 11:

· All dancers should arrive to HHS by 8 am with hair and make-up. DO NOT WEAR COSTUME to either the rehearsal or the show. Be sure to bring all costumes, accessories, and dance shoes.

· Dancers should have WATER only with them backstage. Dancers are also welcome to bring snacks that are non-messy. Please don’t pack anything that could potentially stain a costume. Some good snack options are goldfish, fruit snacks, grapes, granola bars, etc.

· Dancers are welcome to bring coloring books and crayons, dolls, Nintendo DS, or other games to play while waiting backstage for their turn to dance.

· At the rehearsal, dancers will be dismissed after their final performance. They do not have to stay for the duration of the rehearsal. Dancers should take all belongings with them- nothing should be left at HHS.

· Only one person per dancer is allowed at rehearsal. Attached is an entrance bracelet which should be worn to gain admittance to the rehearsal.

· You are welcome to take pictures and videotape during rehearsal. Please do not use your flash when taking pictures as in combination with the lighting, can “blind” dancers and could potentially cause harm. There will be no pictures or videotaping allowed at the show! Professional DVDs are available for purchase.

Show Information: Saturday May 11

· All dancers should arrive to HHS by 5 pm with hair and make-up. DO NOT WEAR COSTUME to the show. Be sure to bring all costumes, accessories, and dance shoes.

· Dancers are welcome to bring coloring books and crayons, dolls, Nintendo DS, or other games to play while waiting backstage for their turn to dance.

· All dancers are required to remain backstage for the entire duration of the show. This policy is in place for the safety of the dancers and we appreciate your cooperation.

· Unless you are a backstage volunteer, parents will not be allowed backstage. Please adhere to this policy as it is in place for the safety of the kids! There will be a designated drop off location and each class will be dismissed from the performance at a designated pick up location which is listed below. Please note that this designated pick up zone is for the pick up after the show only. At rehearsal pick up is the same as drop off.

· There will be no pictures or videotaping allowed at the show! Professional DVDs are available for purchase.

Observation Week: Parents are invited to view their dancer's progress in class during a scheduled Observation Week which will be held March 24-30. Please leave all other siblings at home- only one person per dancer. Please no cell phones. At this time, we will try and answer all of your recital questions.

There will be a Parent Recital Information Session April 28-May 4. During this info session, we ask that one parent attend the last 15 minutes of class to obtain and confirm important information regarding costume and recital procedures.

Class Attendance: It is important that all dancers are on-time and present for all of the remaining dance classes. Please do your best to make sure you are there so that you are well prepared for the recital! Students will fall behind on choreography and miss important recital information when not in class!

2013 Recital T-Shirts: $15

Recital T-shirts are available for $15 sizes Child Small- Adult XXL. T-shirts are a fitted pink burnout tee. T-shirts run small, so we suggest ordering 1 size larger than normal. Please fill out and detach the order form below and turn in with cash or check made payable to KDC. ORDERS DUE April 13.

Good Luck Notes: A slideshow will play before and after the shows on Saturday and Sunday. The slideshow will include picture(s) of your dancer with a special “good luck” note of your choice. This special slideshow is also an additional feature on the recital DVD which is a great keepsake! (On picture day, you will have the opportunity to choose one of your photos to include and write your note.) There is no limit to the number of notes per dancer. A sample note might look like this:

DVD Orders:
Professional quality DVDs are available for purchase. The videos include close-ups of your dancer as well as special features such as backstage video, pictures, good luck notes, solos, and senior moments. Videos are generally ready 8-10 weeks after the recital. Videos are $30 pre-purchased by April 13 and $35 after April 13.
